AGENDA (please add items you want to discuss)
  • what is your favourite technology at the moment and how is it enhancing language learning?
  • the Rose Review and the proposals that technology be at the core of the primary curriculum
  • the value of creating your personal learning network and does the microblogging tool have a place in the classroom?
  • Web 2.0 CPD opportunities for next academic year - anyone like to organise a conference for language teachers interested in using ICT?
  • [if possible, from Mark Pentleton - see above] We're filming a new video podcast series pilot this weekend in Marseilles. The idea of the show is asking lots of people the same question(s), eg. "si vous aviez beaucoup d'argent, que feriez-vous?" etc. Basically hoping to generate lots of useful ideas for students developing their own answer to improve speaking and writing. I'm thinking GCSE/ A-Level / Scottish Int 2 or Higher. Nothing too deep eg. environment, immigration, etc. More along the lines of family, home area, pastimes, maybe job/career, depending on who we interview. Each show would provide lots of answers to the one question in the foreign language, ideally filmed in different locations with different accents etc. My question to you is: what would be your top ten open-ended questions to ask passers-by which would provide the best set of resources for your students. If you can email me any ideas at I'd be very grateful!
